Introducing SterilSteam Sampler, The Steam Condensate Sampler for AAMI ST108 Compliance

Released in 2023, AAMI/ANSI ST108 establishes water quality requirements for water used in the cleaning, rinsing, disinfection, and sterilization of reusable medical devices. In addition to these requirements, ST108 mandates quarterly testing of steam condensate quality to ensure incoming steam does not stain instruments or pose a risk to patient safety.

To help healthcare facilities comply with ST108 and other key regulations, the Consolidated Sterilizer Systems team is proud to announce the launch of our SterilSteam Sampler steam condensate sampler.

Designed, tested, and validated for use on both healthcare and non-healthcare sterilizers, SterilSteam Sampler allows for the easy and safe collection of steam condensate samples with either on-board or house-steam generators, simplifying compliance, preserving instrument integrity, and protecting patient safety.

Key features of the SterilSteam Sampler include:

• Tube-style heat exchanger sample cooler (preferred over plate-type systems, which are prone to clogging)
• Full stainless steel construction for sampler body, coil, and all piping/valves
• Easy-to-use manual ball valves for sample collection
• Fully integration into the sterilizer’s fill and drain lines, no additional plumbing required
• Retrofittable to existing sterilizers in the field

Healthcare facilities can guarantee ST108 compliance by pairing SterilSteam Sampler with a fully stainless-steel clean-steam system, including a stainless-steel generator and piping. SterilSteam Sampler is also available for non-healthcare units to meet facility-specific compliance requirements.
