Crating & Stockroom Associate Job Summary: An established and growing laboratory equipment manufacturer in Billerica is seeking a person to build wooden skids and crates for our equipment and load them onto trucks for shipment. Additional responsibilities will be to assist in the stockroom. A suitable candidate should be capable of: Measuring, cutting and building wooden skids and crates for our large autoclaves using a nail gun, chop saw and hand tools. Attention to detail to ensure all of the parts get packed together and that the unit is clean and protected. Successfully passing in-house forklift operator certification. Using a forklift and/or pallet jack to load and unload trucks. Conducting regular inspections/maintenance of fork truck and pallet jacks. Monitoring and ordering crating material. Basic computer skills (ERP experience preferred). Following shop safety procedures. Picking and packing parts. Kitting parts. Cycle counting and inventory management. Ability to lift up to 70lbs. Performing other shop duties as assigned. We are looking for a mechanically inclined, motivated, fast learner who takes pride in their work and works well alone and with others. Reliability, punctuality, safety and quality of work are important to us. Hours: 1st shift This is for a permanent full-time position to start immediately. Salary/Benefits: Salary Range is $20-$24/hour commensurate with existing skills & experience.
