Metal Polisher/Grinder Job Summary: A growing laboratory equipment manufacturer in Billerica is seeking a motivated individual as an addition to our expanding polishing department! We are searching for a candidate that has experience with hand held power tools such as die grinders, angle grinders and belt sanders, who also has an aptitude for attention to detail. Outlined below is a non-inclusive list of daily tasks and needs we are looking to fill with this position: Finishing welded stainless-steel parts and chamber interiors using a variety of stationary and portable grinders, buffing wheels and sanders. Using a variety of grinding/polishing tools and methods to weld prep metal surfaces. Using an overhead crane, pallet jacks and/or a fork truck to move parts around the shop as needed. Providing a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task. Keeping work area clean and organized and provide maintenance as needed of all equipment used. Basic computer skills. Be able to work independently while at the same time maintaining communications with the department lead and co-workers. Must be reliable and able to follow shop safety procedures. Performing other duties as assigned. We are looking for a fast learner who has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work. You must be interested in continuous improvement; experience with lean manufacturing is a plus. Reliability, punctuality and quality of work are important to us. Compensation will vary depending on experience with overtime available. Hours: 1st shift This is for a permanent full-time position to start immediately. Salary/Benefits: Salary competitive and commensurate with experience.
