Lab Equipment Assembler – Plumbing Job Summary: A growing laboratory equipment manufacturer in Billerica is seeking a General Assembler in the Plumbing Department. Candidates should have knowledge of standard plumbing components (pipe sizes, T’s, elbows, valves, unions, etc.) and pipe connection practices. We expect a fair amount of on the job learning for this position as each unit is somewhat custom. Suitable candidates should have some relevant experience and mechanical aptitude and be capable of the following (after a reasonable training period): Piping of units. Drilling and tapping steel plate. Operation of a band saw, belt sander, drill press, hand drill and pneumatic hand tools. Help put away and requisition inventory related to the plumbing department. Learning and perform additional tasks as assigned. Following shop safety procedures and housekeeping. Welding experience is a plus. ERP experience a plus. We are looking for a reliable, high energy, motivated, quality oriented, fast learner who has a strong work ethic, takes pride in their work and can work well alone or with others. You must be interested in continuous improvement; experience with lean manufacturing is a plus. Compensation will vary depending on experience, with overtime available as needed.
