Control Engineer/Applications Engineer Consolidated Sterilizer Systems is looking for a Control Engineer/Applications Engineer who is familiar with industrial control systems, ladder logic, touch-screen HMI development, and PLCs. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi development tools is preferred. This position is comprised of many roles involving all stages of the product life cycle including development, testing, validation, documentation, transfer to manufacturing, technical field support, and troubleshooting/problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Support existing Allen Bradley MicroLogix and Mitsubishi FX5U PLC-based control systems, including data logging, HMIs, sensors, and other packaged electronics as required. Work with ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming. Provide troubleshooting and technical support to in-house manufacturing as well as customers & field service technicians. Develop & execute plans for new product improvement, new feature integration, bug fixes/patches and cost reduction. Provide validation testing and support for any software modifications and/or design revisions. Perform root cause investigation and testing of failed or returned components. Update & maintain manuals and technical documentation. Assist with part selection, testing, qualification, and vendor approval for related controls hardware. Design, assemble, wire prototypes and test setups as needed. Create and update existing electrical schematics using AutoCAD LT Provide hands-on training as need to teach in-house manufacturing personnel. Minimum Requirements: Electrical Engineering degree strongly preferred or equivalent relevant work experience. Strong demonstrated capability with developing, troubleshooting, testing / supporting PLC and electrical systems preferred. Experience writing PLC programs from scratch is a plus. Working knowledge of common industrial electronics such as relays, contactors, breakers, fuses, motors, switches, temperature sensors, power supplies, and cabling/connectors/plugs/wiring. Familiarity with RS-232, Modbus RTU, and Ethernet IP communication protocols. Strong ability to work in a team and flourish in a small company environment. Ability to wear different hats, shift priorities, and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Nice to Haves: Familiarity with codes such as NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508 Experience & interest in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Experience with FAT/IQ/OQ/PQ procedures & engineering documentation Experience with Process FMEA Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems This is for a permanent full-time position to start immediately.
