The Accountability, Consistency, and Transparency (ACT) Environmental Impact Factor (EIF) label, now available for six of our most popular autoclaves, was created by My Green Lab to address the needs of both scientists and procurement specialists. The label provides scores based on predefined EIF criteria for various categories — including manufacturing, user impact, and end of life — with the goal of increasing transparency in manufacturing, verifying the sustainability of laboratory equipment, and empowering consumers to make informed choices.

What Is My Green Lab?

My Green Lab (MGL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the sustainability of scientific research. It specializes in developing social and environmental impact standards and certifications, engaging in educational outreach programs, and running global advocacy campaigns. Since its founding in 2013, My Green Lab has certified over 900 lab groups and has helped major biotech and pharmaceutical companies reduce their Scope 1 and 2 emissions by an average of 5.31% each year.

What Is EIF Criteria?

The ACT label requires a holistic evaluation of a manufacturer’s overall environmental impact, scoring it based on the following Environmental Impact Factor criteria:
